Research facilities

Research

All programmes in the department are aimed to develop a strong research focus in the students. Faculty in our department are actively engaged in research pursuits and have publications across cutting edge topics in Psychology using both qualitative, quantitative and mixed methodologies. Several ongoing research projects are funded by national (DST, ICSSR) and international (USIEF) agencies.

The department has several laboratories engaged in behaviour-based research, neurocognitive research, and applied cutting edge methodologies to improve outcomes in clinical and non-clinical conditions.  These laboratories house cutting edge technology like

  • The 64 channel EGI EEG acquisition system
  • EPrime – cognitive experiment building system
  • Psychophysiological monitoring and biofeedback system
  • Brain Master Discovery 24E Neurofeedback Systems
  • Eye Tracking system - Eyelink 1000 plus by SR Research
  • Behaviour labs that run social games on networked computers

Faculty in the department are engaged in ongoing field-based projects that provide learning through engagement for students. Some of these projects are engaged in clinical/counseling programs and action research in the following areas

  • Wellbeing in individuals with HIV at Snehagram,
  •  Early childhood development and growth at Christ School

Both undergraduate and post graduate students are involved in research as required by the curriculum. In addition, interested students are encouraged to participate in faculty-led collaborative research projects gaining valuable hands on experience.
